Ikebana

Karen has travelled extensively throughout Asia.

She has been influenced by art of the East but also the colours and culture there. This collection pays homage to Ikebana, the Japanese art of arranging flowers or 'making flowers alive'.

Ikebana is an ancient form of art through flowers.

The tradition dates back to the 7th century in Japan when floral offerings were made at altars to celebrate all aspects of life from birth to death. Later, they were placed in the tokonoma of a home.
